    ~Legal Tools: Attorneys Dan Fluegel will explain which legal tools can help protect your family. Powers of attorney, wills, trusts, and health care directives…which documents are appropriate for you?
    ~Medical Assistance: Joel Rimstad & Pat Zalusky of Laker Insurance Services will cover recent changes to federal guidelines including the new 5 year “look back” period for gifts. How will the new rules and guidelines affect you if you need to qualify for government assistance with health care costs?
    ~Advance Funeral Planning: Scott Borchers, Advance Funeral Planning Specialist, will explore the question of how advance funeral planning can help protect our loved ones. How can you give them peace of mind on one of the hardest days of their lives?
    ~Laurie Thrush, Hastings Senior Center Coordinator, will share information about improving our health and wellness through the many programs offered at The Senior Center.

    • GriefShare: Your Journey from Mouring to JOY
      Monday, December 12, 2016 : 6:30 PM

      Resurrection United Methodist Church of Hastings is presenting GriefShare. GriefShare is for people grieving the death of a family member or friend. It’s a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences.

      The GriefShare group meets weekly for 13 weeks to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. Begin attending the GriefShare group at any session.
      Each is “self-contained,” so you do not have to attend in sequence. You will find encouragement and help whenever you begin.

      • Service of Remembrance & Hope
        Sunday, December 11, 2016 : 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM

        Wise Family Funeral Home invites you and your family to share in a special Holiday Remembrance Service to honor and celebrate the lives of those we've loved and lost this year. Join us for a program led by Pastor Gordon Gathright, which will include music, a special message and refreshments.

        • Rainbows: Guiding Kids through Life's Storms
          Tuesday, December 06, 2016 : 12:00 AM to Tuesday, January 17, 2017 : 12:00 AM

          Grief support for children, Preschool through High School.
          Since 1983, Rainbows has provided support programming that, through a culture of openness and acceptance, helps participants learn to better understand and express their feelings and begin to move toward emotional healing. Designed for specific age groupsm the success of the programs relies of a frame-work in which participants are grouped with their peers and are able to re-enroll again and again.

          There is no fee for this program. This group meets on Tuesday from 6:00-7:00pm
